We include a Jelly Jar light with every order. The Jelly Jar light will replace ANY existing fixture as long as there is electricity behind it. We have customers that replace all kinds of different fixtures. The great thing is that once you put on the Jelly Jar light you now have the versatility of swapping out your lighting for holidays, special occasion or well…just because you want a new look!
Our Slip On Sconces will go over most standard Jelly Jar lights, however, we recommend you use the Jelly Jar fixture that’s included or, at least, keep it for replacement of your existing light fixture, if necessary. Since Jelly Jar lights first came out in the 1960’s you never know how old that light on the house really is.
We have a patented bracket on the back that fits securely on to the Jelly Jar fixture and provides a tight fit. The bracket is adjustable so you can make the fit tighter by pushing the bracket inward. This adjustment also works to make the sconces fit securely against uneven rock surfaces, brick, etc. There’s no drilling into walls or tools needed to attach the sconce.
Most definitely! We have customers and businesses that use these in the interior. If you have a plasma cut design you’d like for the inside and would like a soft, subtle light we suggest a light diffuser film in addition to a low wattage bulb. Let us know if you intend to put these inside and we can help you with what works best.
If you know basic wiring you can easily follow the installation instructions that come with the Jelly Jar fixture. It’s really quite simple, but if you’re not comfortable with connecting the 2 wires, a handyman or electrician would be suggested. You would need an electrician if you do not already have electricity where you want to put the sconces.
Our colored sconces are powder coated. This is the same process that is done with automobiles, patio furniture and playground equipment so it’s very durable. Please see our products page that describes the color process in detail. The stainless steel sconces will not rust, but they will be less shiny if not polished.
All our coated sconces are manufactured with 100% recycled 20 gauge cold rolled steel. Our stainless steel is comprised of 60% recycled material. We pride ourselves on the quality and workmanship of all of our pieces and are proud to say that all of our products are made in the United States of America.
The powder coating process integrates the very best technology and equipment available on the market. Precision powder guns are used for full coverage in areas that normally would be difficult to coat using conventional electrostatic systems. The sconces are then cured from 350°F to 525°F, depending on the piece.
Yes, believe it or not we have had people pose this question. Unfortunately we can’t do anything about people stealing things from one’s property. It’s no different from someone taking your plants, holiday flags or anything else in your yard for that matter. We have not heard of this happening with any of our customers, but if this is a problem in your neighborhood we would suggest wiring the bracket onto the light fixture.
For new home and commercial builders, this is a requirement in most states. All that you need to do is use an incandescent bulb in the Jelly Jar fixture to pass inspection.

All our sconces are approximately 16 inches long, 11 inches wide and come out from the wall about 5 inches. We have found that this sizing works best with most houses.
